East Hagåtña Wall Project

For the last eight years, the ‘Retaining the Spirit of Guam, USA’ wall in East Hagåtña has existed as a community project, which volunteers help clean prior to the annual commemoration of Liberation Day.

Lieutenant Governor Raymond S. Tenorio has maintained the Wall Mural Project since he began serving the island as a Senator.

As Lieutenant Governor of Guam he remains steadfast in this regard. And as Guam heads toward a new direction, his vision will not change.

Office of the Lieutenant Governor Staff Assistant Mary Macalde will help lead the efforts to maintain the wall’s patriotic presence as the Project Manager. To achieve this, innovative and environment-friendly methods of replacing the paint are being explored.

The goal is to eventually have a wall that will be Green-focused and which will stand the test of time — a wall that the entire community can claim ownership of as the years pass through the same Guamanian dream.
